Lancaster Cycle Track, Salt Ayre Sports Centre.
Go past the sports centre, through the car park at the rear, turn right through a gate onto dirt track. Park here and walk through onto track.

Tarmac cycle track.

SAFETY DETAILS

Very safe, but the track is used to exercise dogs.
Take care if grass has just been cut they sometimes drop cuttings on the track. There is one small grassy hole in the tarmac on the other side of the track from the access point and to the right. On the far right just after the lefthand loop back, gravel from a path ends up on the outside of the bend.

Cafe and toilets etc. in Sports Centre, 300m away.

OTHER DETAILS

Track can be hired for group instruction, courses etc. (£50 per day). Has been used unofficially for individual practice. Used for cycle races, so it may be a good idea to check with Sports Centre on 01524 847540.

If staying overnight, Premier Hotel on A683 near M6 J34 is convenient. £60 B&B in 2005 (AS).
